New Moon is the second book in the Twilight series, by Stephanie Meyer. In the first book a girl named Bella Swan finds out that a mysterious boy at her school, Edward Cullen, is a vampire. The two fall in love, but it is not easy with Edward being a vampire and Bella not.
The story starts off with Bellas 18th birthday. That is the day that she is exactly one year older than Edward, and she doens't like that. When she went to the Cullen house for a birthday party she cut herself while opening a birthday present. Being in a house full of vampires, this was not a good thing. Edward then realized that Bella was not safe around him, and he left her.
When he left Bella went into a depression until she starting hanging out with her friend Jacob Black, who made things a lot different for her...
